This Amended Determination follows the approval of additional funding, extended period of performance, new teaming partners, and new project milestones to support the project team's small-scale research and development activities of high-entropy glass-ceramics that could store more nuclear waste by percent weight than industry-standard glasses. Specifically, the project team will (1) continue to synthesize, test, and validate preliminary glass- ceramics to meet performance metrics, (2) apply computational analysis to identify and rank next phase materials, and (3) synthesize, test, and validate next phase glass-ceramic materials for use in final storage prototype.
