The purpose of this work is to install a cooling tower water treatment system at the Central Utility Building (CUB) that will not use any hazardous chemicals with additional reverse osmosis (RO) and carbon filters for more robust and reliable water processing. A new system is needed to provide cooling water to the CUB and the Proton Improvement Plan II (PIP II). The original cooling tower water treatment used sulfuric acid and has been decommissioned.
