The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to SAFFiRE Renewables, LLC, (SAFFiRE) to design, fabricate, install, and operate a 10-ton-per-day pilot plant for converting corn stover to ethanol. The award aims to utilize a commercial facility to upgrade the produced ethanol to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for use in commercial aviation.
