As a part of an NA-22 funded research project, uranium oxide powders will be ball milled with trace impurities of metal, metal oxide, and salts at the bench scale (~1g of powder per operation) to prepare well-mixed powders. Powder will be extracted from the milling jars and characterized for particle size, mixture homogeneity, and other properties of interest using microanalytical techniques.
