OCED is proposing to provide funding to Xcel Energy (Xcel) in support of its Multiday Iron Air Demonstration (MIND) Project. Xcel's MIND Project, in collaboration with its technology provider, Form Energy, would deploy two (2) 10 megawatt, 100-hour long-duration energy storage (LDES) battery systems at two of its existing coal plants planned for retirement in Colorado (Comanche Generating Plant) and Minnesota (Sherco Generating Plant).
