Westinghouse and BEA will cooperate in the irradiation testing of Westinghouse Tri-Structural Isotropic (TRISO) particle fuel compacts. The intention of the Westinghouse test program is to build on the Advanced Gas Reactor (AGR) program’s generic TRISO fuel qualification, with the end result being confirmation of the Westinghouse designed large-kernel TRISO fuel’s suitability for operation in the Westinghouse eVinciTM microreactor.
