The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to Transaera for development and evaluations of novel desiccant coatings in high-efficiency portable air conditioners. Award activities would occur over three budget periods (BP). BP1 would include concept design, exploration, generation of performance maps, development of a performance model in simulated environments, integrated modeling analysis, and concept trade studies. BP2 would include detailed design of prototypes, perform an at-scale cost estimate, construction and validation of prototypes, and preparation for testing.
