The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as part of the Assisting Federal Facilities with Energy Conservation Technologies (AFFECT) grant program. The funding provided would assist in the development of a dynamic Battery Energy Storage System at the White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
