September 19, 2019The Purge Water Disposal Station (PWDS) discharge piping has become clogged with suspected well development fluids suspected of containing portland/bentonite residue. Piping should not have to be replaced but if it's not able to be flushed out, the replacement will be a direct replacement. Removed pipe and any solids will be treated per the Investigation Derived Waste (IDW) Management Plan. Water from the tank will be directly transported to M-1 Air Stripper during the same shift. Flange gaskets are going to be treated as asbestos and handled as such by a asbestos competent person.
