This activity will encompass two (2) analytical methods that will be performed in 773-A, B-111: Interfacial Tension (IFT) and Oil/Grease Analysis by an infrared method. IFT is an analysis that determines the integrity of a tributyl phosphate (TBP)/n-paraffin solvent by measuring the interfacial tension between the solvent and an aqueous sodium carbonate solution. With the second method, a non-dispersive infrared analyzer measures the hydrocarbon (oil/grease) content of aqueous solutions.
