The Process Technology Programs will conduct laboratory scale simulations of the Defense Waste Processing Facility process at the Aiken County Technology Laboratory. These simulations use non-radioactive simulants of the Defense Waste Processing Facility process streams during the testing. These process streams may also include both the Actinide Removal Process and the Modular Caustic Side Solvent Extraction Unit streams included in Defense Waste Processing Facility processing. This revision will include conducting lab-scale tests to evaluate performance of various commercial defoamers, antifoam agents, and additives to reduce, or prevent formation of unwanted foam.
