Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program. The Energy Efficiency Conservation Strategy (EECS) will provide the framework for continued improvements in energy efficiency and conservation. The projected Cedar Hill metrics for the final EECS include: -Reduce energy usage through retrofits of existing systems -Manage future energy demand by deploying green building practices and developing incentives for using those practices -Increase the use of renewable and sustainable energy sources through strategic partnerships -Reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality by employing better energy practices -Leverage funding from existing and potential new sources to maximize benefits and stimulate the local economy -Improve mobility by evaluating options for a centralized district within the City providing multi-modal options for citizens (including commuter rail, a network of connecting pedestrian and bike trails, and potentially a street car) -Reduce City operational costs through energy savings -Enhance the local economy by creating and retaining jobs.
