Chesterfield County is proposing to use (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant) EECBG funding to conduct audits of existing lighting in schools. The original scope only included lighting retrofits. The recipient was able to expand the activity to additional schools, but this necessitated EECBG funds be used to conduct lighting audits in order to determine the on-going lighting retrofit activity. Chesterfield County proposes to retrofit schools with existing inefficient T-12 fluorescent lighting to high efficiency T-8, electronic ballast fluorescent lighting. An audit of existing lighting will determine the number of schools that can be retrofit through this program.
