The City of Tamarac, Florida proposes to use federal funding to incorporate solar energy technology and innovative lighting technologies into the city's municipal facilities to reduce its dependence on conventional energy resources. Through the uses of solar panels, induction lighting, solar safety lighting, high energy saving sports lighting, and commercialization of an energy incentive program the city aims to reduce its carbon footprint.
