Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program. The Leech Lake Band would purchase twelve 1.2 kilowatt Windspire? vertical wind turbines for installation and monitoring on four Band facilities: four (4) Band government buildings and eight (8) community centers. By undertaking 12 very visible and well-marketed installations the Band intends to educate and familiarizing the tribal public with an affordable and easily accessible technology that can be used throughout the reservation. Installation work is to be performed by the Band's Public Works Department.
