Inconel 602CA alloy coated with U3O8 glass will be sectioned in the hood using a Isomet Cut-Off Saw. After sectioning the samples will be mounted in preparation of metallography. Mounted samples will be metallographically prepared by grinding and polishing in the hood. Samples will then be photographed on the metallograph. All work will be performed in the hood in C-126. The coupons are approximately 3 inches long by 1/2 inch wide by 0.25 inch thick. Only the lower 1 inch of the coupon was immersed in the U308 (depleted uranium) glass. The glass contains an alpha activity of 3E4 disintegrations per minute (dpm)/gram based on 5 percent weight U3O8 and little or no beta.
