The state of Oregon would provide $200,000 of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to the Oak Springs Hatchery for the design and construction of a 50 kilowatt in-line hydro generation unit. The hydro generation unit would be fitted in an existing hatchery feed line and the water feed to the hatchery would be shut off or bypassed while the new section of pipe with the generator is inserted.
