Sandia National Laboratories/New Mexico (SNL/NM) proposes to initiate modifications to the existing Battery Abuse Testing Laboratory (BATLab) located in Building 905, which would include equipment upgrades that would improve operational efficiencies, allowing the facility to conduct testing more rapidly and safely. Upgrades would also allow testing of a wider variety of battery types. No new hazards would be introduced, and existing hazards would be reduced.
