Roberts Wesleyan College (RWC) proposes to use the Department of Energy (DOE) funds and cost share funding to develop and demonstrate geothermal source heat pumps for heating and cooling. In Phase I (Preliminary Engineering and Design), RWC would preliminarily engineer and design a ground source heat pump system for RWC. At this time, the DOE is not evaluating Phase II (Project Implementation) or Phase III (Project Operation) in this National Environmental Policy Act determination due to lack of a preliminary geothermal system for RWC. This review is specific to Phase I only.
