The University of Louisville proposes to use federal funds to establish a center focused on renewable energy research. This center will focus on materials manufacturing, solar energy conservation, renewable energy storage, biofuels, and energy efficient building methods. The Conn Center for Renewable Energy Research will be located within an existing building on campus and will work to develop educational programs, initiate research projects involved in solar and biomass fields, and aid in the recruitment of qualified individuals to establish these research projects.
