The National Aviary of Pittsburgh proposes to use federal funding to research wind turbine impacts on Golden Eagles. They will observe site specific behavior patterns and determine if Golden Eagle flight patterns can be predicted with landscape features. This data can then be analyzed and plugged into a GIS (geographic information system) computer modeling system to determine where and when eagle populations migrate through the region.
