A core sample originating from the Z-Area Industrial Solid Waste Landfill (ISWFL) will be received into the laboratory. A subsample will be taken from the core periodically and subjected to leaching studies to derive distribution coefficients (Kd values). Surrogate samples will also be prepared in the lab using premix solids and simulant solution. Some samples will be spiked with technetium-99.
