The City of Fairmont's strategy focuses on one Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) project activity: 5) the "Energy Efficient Retrofits" as described by the EECBG Program. The EECBG project activity will support the City's efforts to obtain greater energy efficiency by significantly reducing the amount of energy and associated expense for the operation of traffic signal fixtures. The City anticipates that retrofitting the City's 24 signalized intersections with light-emitting diode fixtures will save over 16,000 kilowatt hours and $1,650 per month.
