The City of Knoxville intends to use Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant funds for installation of a 100 kilowatt (kW) roof mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) system. This activity includes: Installation of a 100 kW solar PV array on the top of the Knoxville Convention Center, an 8 year old municipally-owned facility. The project will result in a 100 kW solar array, which, depending on exact capacity, would produce about 120 megawatt/hour of electricity each year.
