A vapor deposition apparatus will be operated to synthesize nanostructured materials for battery research. The entire apparatus is operated in the fume hood. The materials deposited on the substrates will be evaluated for their composition, structure, and electrochemical properties. Revision 1 Addition: Standard laboratory equipment (beakers, flasks, heating pad w/ stirrer) will be added to the fume hood to deposit metallic thin film on glass substrates. After deposition, these metal-coated glass substrates will be dried in a standard laboratory vacuum oven. The conductivity of the deposited layers will be measured using standard electrochemical apparatus.
