GE Global Research Center's (GEGRC) objective for this project is to develop and evaluate inline inspection methods to detect defects of large-scale carbon composites on wind turbine spar caps. They will be conducting research, lab modeling and laboratory prototyping at the GEGRC site in Niskayuna, New York. A thorough Research and Development questionnaire was submitted for this location and established protocols follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards. Additional laboratory research will be conducted at the Department of Energy Oakridge National Laboratory.
