South Dakota's State Energy Office would use Department of Energy funding to install a heat-recovery system for the air-handling unit at the State Health Lab. The lab is currently served by one central air handling unit (AHU) and two dedicated exhaust fans. The heat-recovery system would take heated or cooled air from the exhaust air of AHU and pre-condition the outside air entering the central AHU.
