
Kelly Visconti is the Principal Deputy Director for the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) where she is leading a team to implement programs to strengthen U.S. manufacturing, energy supply chains and the manufacturing workforce. Prior to this role, Kelly was a Deputy Director in MESC leading programs for small and medium manufacturers and was the Director of Science and Energy Crosscuts working across the DOE. She also spent three years in the DoD’s Manufacturing Technologies Office as a consultant on advanced manufacturing. From 2011-2018 she worked in DOE’s Advanced Manufacturing Office and helped launch and manage public private partnerships focused on manufacturing innovation.
Kelly spent the first decade of her career as an engineer and quality control manager for the world's largest industrial gas company. Kelly is an American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Fellow (2021), a recipient of The George Washington University’s Arthur S. Flemming Award (2017), and a former American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow (2011-2012). She received her M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Rutgers University (2005) and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University (2001).
