The Forrestal Cafeteria is currently only open to Department of Energy employees, it is not open to the public [June 2026]. The cafeteria is located at the Department of Energy's Forrestal building at 1000 Independence Ave., SW, Washington DC, 20585, across the street from the Smithsonian Castle. The cafeteria is located on the east side of the L'Enfant Plaza street.
Cafeteria Information for DOE Employees
Employees should use the Department's Energy Hub page on Food Services at HQ for information on all the food services and infrastructure that are at the Forrestal and Germantown buildings. The Energy Hub is on the DOE employee intranet and can only be accessed by a system with access to the DOE network, and is not available through public access. These services include:
