The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Loan Programs Office (LPO) has issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) and draft mitigated Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) to consider the environmental impacts associated with providing potential financial assistance (a federal loan guarantee) for the refurbishment of a gasification facility and construction of a new hydrogen production facility, a CO2 capture facility and CO2 injection and monitoring wells, and an ammonia synthesis facility to produce anhydrous ammonia from petroleum coke and coal in Vigo and Vermillion counties, Indiana.
