As part of its effort to increase awareness and promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) career opportunities among the public, LM conducted outreach sessions at the American Indian Science and Engineering Society National Conference and career fair. This effort aligns with LM’s goal of partnering with people and governments of tribal nations. The goal of the event is to reach out to Native American students to educate and inform them about careers with LM.

This year’s conference was held September 21 through 23 in Denver, Colorado. The career fair is a major STEM event in Indian country, reaching hundreds of American Indian high school and college students, educators, professionals, and tribal nations. LM sessions took place during the STEM Activity Day and during the professional track event that supports native professionals as they advance their careers in STEM. LM conducted hands-on activities to engage students in real-world project management approaches used at a few of LM’s legacy sites. For more information see http://conference.aises.org/.
