The Global Clean Energy Action Forum

On September 21-23, U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm will host the Global Clean Energy Action Forum (GCEAF) – the premier clean energy event of the year - in Pittsburgh, America’s steel city. Clean energy leaders from around the world will gather to turn ambition into action and accelerate the transition to a cleaner and more secure energy future. GCEAF will draw ministers from over 30 countries to convene the 13th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) and the 7th ministerial of Mission Innovation (MI).

As the host of the 2022 GCEAF, DOE is thinking bigger, bolder, and beyond the typical clean energy conferences. GCEAF represents a global effort across all levels of government, the private sector, and all energy stakeholders towards complete technological transformation and unprecedented deployment of clean energy technologies to meet our climate goals.

GCEAF will create a myriad of opportunities for collaboration and sharing of experiences for representatives from the private sector, industry, research institutions, finance institutions, organized labor, and philanthropic organizations to drive clean energy innovation and deployment. The inaugural event will also work towards empowering communities and the next generation of the clean energy workforce, recognizing their integral role in the energy transition.

The theme of GCEAF is simple: Rapid Innovation and Deployment. DOE encourages participants to explore how the concepts of jobs and community, technology transformation, and unprecedented deployment contribute to this goal.
