DOE found that Hunter Fan high-speed small-diameter ceiling fans models: Trak, Symphony, and 7ft XP failed to comply with energy conservation standards.
June 4, 2024DOE ordered Hunter Fan Company (“Hunter Fan”) to pay a $295,764 civil penalty after Hunter Fan had manufactured and distributed in commerce multiple units of the noncompliant Hunter Fan high-speed small-diameter ceiling fans models: Trak, Symphony, and 7ft XP. The Order adopted a Settlement Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Hunter Fan.
On December 21, 2023, DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Hunter Fan finding that the Hunter Fan high-speed small-diameter ceiling fans Trak, Symphony, and 7ft XP models do not comply with applicable energy conservation standards based on Hunter Fan’s own testing. Hunter Fan provided DOE records showing the number of units Hunter Fan distributed. Federal law subjects manufacturers and private labelers to civil penalties if those parties distribute in the U.S. products that do not meet applicable energy conservation standards.
