DOE ordered Fri-Jado Inc. to pay a $2,979 civil penalty after Fri-Jado had manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. multiple units of the noncompliant commercial refrigeration equipment nameplate basic model numbers MC-30 C FS and CD3 FS. The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Fri-Jado.
On July 13, 2020, DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Fri-Jado finding that the commercial refrigeration equipment nameplate basic model numbers, which includes MC-30 C FS and CD3 FS does not comply with applicable energy conservation standards based on DOE testing. Fri-Jado provided DOE records showing the number of units Fri-Jado distributed.
