DOE ordered ASKO to pay a $40,000 civil penalty after finding ASKO had failed to certify that various basic models of dishwashers comply with the applicable energy conservation standards.
DOE regulations require a manufacturer (which includes importers) to submit reports certifying that each basic model of its products have been tested and meet the applicable standards.
