FE-746R Data Collection OMB Clearance Process | Department of Energy

On July 30, 2025, DOE issued a Federal Register Notice inviting public comment on the proposed collection of information, the FE-746R Monthly Report of Natural Gas Imports and Exports.  Comments on the data collection were due to DOE no later than September 29, 2025.  On April 10, 2026, DOE issued a second Federal Register Notice finalizing the submission of the information collection and proposing no changes to the current data collection.  Comments are due to DOE no later than May 11, 2026.

The information collection supports DOE's Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office (HGEO) in gathering critical information on U.S. trade in natural gas, including liquefied natural gas (LNG).  The current information collection expires August 31, 2026, and DOE is requesting a three-year extension.  A description of the proposed form as well as instructions on how to provide comments are contained in the Federal Register Notice and the proposed sample forms and instructions are below.
