Bill Wilborn

Bill Wilborn serves as the Deputy Program Manager for Operations within the Environmental Management (EM) Nevada Program. As Deputy Program Manager, he is responsible for all operations related to soil remediation, deactivation & decommission of historic nuclear testing facilities, groundwater characterization, waste disposal activities, and long-term monitoring. 

Wilborn also provides oversight activities for the Environmental Management Consolidated Business Center for three groundwater areas of concern located on the Kirtland Air Force Base managed by the National Nuclear Security Administration Sandia Field Office.

Wilborn joined the EM Nevada Program in 1992 and has a diverse background including leading the Underground Test Area Activity, soils, and the offsites project. Wilborn is a certified Project Management Professional and Federal Project Director. 

Prior to joining the DOE, he served in the U.S. Navy for four years and earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
