The Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the Green Chemistry & Commerce Council (GC3) co-hosted an informal virtual roundtable on November 17, 2020 to gather Industry stakeholder perspectives on how sustainable chemistry is being incorporated into consumer and commercial manufacturing processes. AMO is interested in R&D needs that remain for process technologies, materials, or products that can contribute to the goals of sustainable chemistry including reducing energy consumption and related emissions, reducing impacts on natural resources, and the reuse or recycling of chemicals and materials across the product lifecycle. The market demand for more sustainable manufacturing practices in the chemical industry for both consumer and commercial products is a new opportunity to create significant value for U.S. manufacturing and maintain global competitiveness.

Available for download are the roundtable summary report, agenda, several industry stakeholder presentations, and the AMO overview presentation.
