Acting Director of the Technical & Environmental Division and Acting Chief Engineer, Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF)
Anthony (Tony) Bolaños is the Acting Chief Engineer for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) and serves as the acting director in the Technical & Environmental Division (TED). He first joined the office in 2014 as a federal project engineer leading the technical monitoring of projects across energy technology sectors, including nuclear, geothermal, renewable, fossil, advanced batteries, mobility, and others. Most recently, he was the technical lead for the Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing (ATVM) Program where he led technical due diligence of over $27 billion in closed deals.
Prior to joining DOE, Mr. Bolaños spent seven years in the Army as a Communications Sergeant Special Forces Green Beret assigned to the 7th Special Forces Group in Eglin, AFB. He conducted multiple deployments to Central America and Afghanistan.
Mr. Bolaños has a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, a Minor in Psychology, and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He has a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
