The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) has issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) to consider the environmental impacts associated with providing potential financial assistance (a federal loan guarantee) for the development of two battery energy storage systems (Amanecer Puerto Rico Energy Portfolio [Project], consisting of the Barceloneta Battery Energy Storage System (Barceloneta Storage) near Arecibo, and the Santa Isabel Battery Energy Storage System (Santa Isabel Storage) near Santa Isabel.
