David (Dave) Olah is the Director of the Office of Worker Safety and Health Assessments within Office of Enterprise Assessments (EA) at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).  In this role, he is responsible for leading comprehensive assessments, reviews, and technical analyses at DOE's nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.  Mr. Olah leads multidisciplinary teams to ensure thorough worker safety and health oversight, provides expert guidance, validates findings, and collaborates with site management.  Mr. Olah joined EA’s Office of Worker Safety and Health Assessments as an Occupational Safety and Health Manager in May 2020 and was promoted to Director in December 2025.

Before joining DOE, Mr. Olah served at the U.S. Department of Labor’s, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Area Office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, from December 2008 to May 2020, including 4 years as Area Director.  In this capacity, he oversaw all operational aspects of the Area Office, including routine workplace inspections and significant accident investigations at retail, manufacturing, and construction sites.  His OSHA career also included serving as Assistant Area Director, where he supervised compliance officers and negotiated settlements, and as a Safety and Occupational Health Compliance Officer, where he conducted complex inspections and investigations.  Mr. Olah's foundational experience includes managing manufacturing operations at JLG Industries and serving with distinction during a 20-year career in the U.S. Navy aboard surface ships, including in his final assignment as a Division Officer and Assistant Chief Engineer aboard an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer.

Mr. Olah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Science with a minor in Environmental Management from the University of Maryland.
