Director, Office of Security Enforcement

Carrianne Zimmerman is the Director of the Office of Security Enforcement, within the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Enterprise Assessments.  Ms. Zimmerman is responsible for implementing the Department’s classified information security enforcement program.  The primary goal of security enforcement is to enhance the Department’s classified information security program, which is designed to protect against the unauthorized disclosure of classified information through compliance with 10 C.F.R. Part 824 regulatory requirements.

In her 15 years with DOE, she has also served as a security enforcement specialist and as the Department’s safeguards and security survey program manager.

Prior to becoming a federal employee, Ms. Zimmerman held a number of positions as a contractor at one of the Department’s former field sites (Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site).  In her 12 years as a government contractor, she supported a variety of the Department’s safeguards and security programs, including personnel security, information security, and contractor assurance for all safeguards and security program areas, and served as contracting officer for one of the main security subcontracts.  Ms. Zimmerman has completed numerous professional training courses throughout her employment with the DOE.
