A highly attended panel at the 2023 Waste Management Symposia featured three high school girls from Florida who shared their insights and ideas to encourage more young women to enter science, technology, engineering and math careers.

A discussion panel for the 2023 Waste Management Symposia provided Hanford Site leadership the opportunity to showcase how teamwork is contributing to cleanup mission progress.

EM Intergovernmental and Stakeholder Programs Director Joceline Nahigian and others with the cleanup program connected with student and faculty researchers representing the multi-university Consortium for Risk Evaluation with Stakeholder Participation.

The Savannah River Site’s (SRS) liquid waste contractor for the EM program has established a new partnership with a South Carolina technical school to train students for critical roles while continuing their education.

Rachel Mandelbaum’s work uses data from large sky surveys to study the physics governing the second half of the universe’s age.

"Knowing that my work contributes to national security is important to me. The history of NNSA and the amazing people I have the pleasure of working with make my career a rewarding experience," says Na'ilah Bowden.

For Shekita Robinson, knowing that her actions or words have positively impacted the lives of those she's mentored is her greatest accomplishment.

"One of my favorite things about working at the NNSA is the sheer number of programs the NNSA operates in support of national security," says NGFP Fellow Kavough Jernigan.
