The Hydropower and Hydrokinetic Office (H2O) within the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation (CMEI) supports the development, deployment, and commercialization of water power technologies. Formerly part of the integrated Wind and Water Power Technologies Office, the H2O was created as a stand-alone entity in the summer of 2016.
