WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, following his trip to Brussels, Belgium for the U.S.-E.U. Energy Council High-Level Business to Business Forum, U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry visited London, England. While in London, the Secretary joined NNSA Administrator and Under Secretary for Nuclear Security, Lisa E. Gordon-Hagerty and other UK and American officials to honor the cooperation between the United States and the United Kingdom on Nuclear Security and Non Proliferation.

Secretary Perry also had the opportunity to meet with international energy industry leaders and other officials, including Minister Khalid Al-Falih and Dr. Fatih Birol. On April 22nd, the Trump Administration announced that it will not renew the significant reduction exceptions (SREs) to countries who are purchasing Iranian oil. The waivers currently in place expire today. Secretary Perry remains actively engaged with his counterparts from the world’s major oil supplying nations and remains confident in the ability of these nations to offset any potential disruptions in global energy markets.
