Secretary Perry to Visit Belgium, Slovenia, and France

Secretary Perry to join Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry is headed to Brussels, Belgium for an Independence Day celebration alongside U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland. While in Brussels, Secretary Perry will engage with industry stakeholders and his European government counterparts.

On Wednesday, June 5, 2019, Secretary Perry will travel to Ljubljana, Slovenia for this year’s Three Seas Initiative Summit. The Three Seas Initiative is a European-led effort launched in 2016 by 12 countries located between the Baltic Sea, Adriatic Sea, and Black Sea, with the support of the European Union, to further regional goals of enhancing overall infrastructure and energy development. Perry participated in the 2018 Three Seas Summit, held in Bucharest, Romania.

Thursday, June 6, 2019, marks the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. President Donald J. Trump will commemorate this solemn day at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France. Secretary Perry and Deputy Secretary Dan Brouillette will join other veterans and dignitaries for the President’s remarks honoring those who served and sacrificed on D-Day and ensuing missions that were pivotal to the liberation of Europe.
