WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Thursday, October 29, 2020, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Assistant Secretary of Fossil Energy Steve Winberg will participate in the Upstream PA 2020 Conference. Assistant Secretary Winberg and Dave Spigelmyer, President of the Marcellus Shale Coalition, will discuss the challenges the natural gas industry has faced in 2020 due to an imbalance in supply coupled with the global demand slowdown due to the pandemic, and also, provide an outlook for the industry in 2021. This event will take place in person.

On Friday, October 30, 2020, Assistant Secretary Winberg will participate in a virtual Energy Town Hall Meeting with Dave Spigelmyer hosted by the Marcellus Shale Coalition. The town hall will focus on the future of American Energy and the role natural gas is playing in meeting our nation’s energy needs. Assistant Secretary Winberg will highlight the crucial importance of maintaining a strong domestic oil & gas industry, discuss why fossil fuels remain a key reliable energy source for the foreseeable future, and underscore the importance of Marcellus Shale produced natural gas. This event will be livestreamed.
