The Department of Energy (DOE) and the Office of Technology Transitions (OTT) actively encourage and support strong innovation  ecosystems across the nation. As part of this effort, DOE is conducting a series of Regional Innovation Ecosystem Roundtables in areas that could more effectively leverage DOE resources and build technology partnerships beneficial to businesses, the region, and the nation.

After two successful roundtables this summer with Michigan stakeholders, OTT and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation collaborated on a report to gain a clearer understanding of the current and future challenges facing Michigan’s innovation ecosystem, and highlight opportunities to inspire clean energy technology innovation and advance regional markets.

This report furthers DOE’s commitment to connect with regional leaders to build partnerships, utilize beneficial resources, and encourage workforce development. This is just the beginning, and we hope to join more regional stakeholders in the future to listen, learn, and strengthen our energy innovation ecosystems across the United States.
