In this Final Rulemaking, DOE proposes amended energy conservation standards for commercial clothes washers. The proposed standards, which are expressed for each product class in terms of a minimum modified energy factor (MEF J2) and a maximum integrated water factor (IWF), are shown in Table 1.1 of the Final Rule. These proposed standards, if adopted, would apply to all products listed in Table 1.1 and manufactured in, or imported into, the United States on or after the date three years after the publication of the final rule for this rulemaking.
