To ensure the duration of its hydroperiod is sufficient for breeding Central California tiger salamanders, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory proposes to add a layer of imported clay up to 12 inches deep to the substrate of an existing conservation set aside (Pool M2) and compact it to ensure minimal water infiltration from the pool bottom and perimeter into surrounding soils.
